Laser Vision Correction at New Braunfels Vision Center

Vision correction is an excellent investment in your medical and personal well-being. At New Braunfels Vision Center, you will have the combination of Dr. Grant Smith’s experience and state-of-the-art technology for the most precise results possible.  Our Lasik service includes IntraLase, CustomVue and a year of follow-up care.

This video clip shows the process of the lasik procedure.
1. Creating a small flap
2. Lifting the flap
3. Resurfacing the cornea
4. Closing the flap, which begins to heal immediately

About Intralase: Until recently, the flap was created with a hand-held blade called a microkeratome.  Instead, Dr. Smith uses the Intralase laser for this important step.  The Intralase laser gives you the most precise results, the safest procedure and the fastest healing period.

About CustomVue: Your vision is as unique as your fingerprint. Traditional methods measured vision in quarters (for example: .25, .50) Using the WaveScan diagnostic system, Dr. Smith can measure your unique vision with 25 times greater accuracy.  This information will be transferred directly to the VISX STAR S4 laser system to give you extremely precise vision correction.

Your Next Step: Once you have researched laser vision correction and chosen New Braunfels Vision Center, you should schedule your pre-operative exam.  This is a comprehensive exam that will last 1 ½ hours and your eyes will be dilated. At this appointment, Dr. Smith will gather all of the data and measurements needed to correct your vision.  He will also visit with you about expectations and answer any questions that you have.  You will then choose your visual freedom day and get all of your procedure instructions.
